PHRYGIA, Ancyra. Severan era?. Æ (15.5mm, 2.83 g, 1h). Poppy between two grain ears / Serpent-entwined anchor. Lindgren & Kovacs A884B; Imhoof-Blumer, KM p. 524, 1; RPC (all) –. Black patina with earthen deposits. Good VF. Very rare, seven in CoinArchives.

Neither L&K or Imhoof-Blumer attribute this rare type to a specific time period and its omission from the currently published volumes of RPC does not help with its dating. The small module denominations are very rare by the time of Gallienus so the likeliest time frame is that of the Severan dynasty, but that is by no means certain.
