KINGS of THRACE. Lysimachos. 305-281 BC. AR Drachm (19mm, 4.27 g). Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, with horn of Ammon / Athena Nikephoros seated left; bee in inner left field, monogram on throne. Thompson -; Müller -. Good VF, slight double striking.
Apparently an unrecorded variety without the E-F on either side of the bee. Thompson does record a stater of this type with the same symbols on the reverse, Thompson 165. Unusual style portrait with short hair on back of neck. A drachm from the same dies appeared in Triton V (15-16 January 2002), lot 1336.
