BMC 224; SNG Copenhagen 387 (same obv. die); SNG von Aulock -. Good Fine, dark greenish-brown patina, cleaning scratches. Slight traces of silvering on the reverse.

The light silvering on this specimen and a specimen that appeared in Stack’s (11 January 2010, lot 267), suggests that this was perhaps a medallic or commemorative issue, possibly struck on the occasion of Hadrian’s visit to Ephesos in AD 129
