THESSALY, Koinon of Thessaly. Salonina. Augusta, AD 254-268. Æ Triassarion (20mm, 4.80 g, 6h). [KOPN CA]ΛΩNINA AVΓ, draped bust right, wearing stephanos, set on crescent / ΘЄCCAΛΩ/N KOINON, Nike, holding wreath in extended right hand, reins in left hand, driving triga galloping right; Γ (mark of value) below horses. Burrer, MA-G 57 = BCD Thessaly II 995 (same dies); Rogers 134 var. (obv. legend, arrangement of rev. legend). VF, dark green patina, a few spots of red on obverse.

From the BCD Collection.

Much finer surfaces than the Triton XV specimen, which sold for $1000. In fairness, though, that coin had once been part of the Lord Grantley, Reverend Rogers, and Heller collections.
