Rheskouporis I standing right, resting left foot on bound captive seated at base of trophy; to left, a second captive / Diademed and draped bust of Rheskouporis I right, vis-à-vis draped bust of Aphrodite Apatura left; MH (mark of value) below. MacDonald 359; Anokhin 382; RPC II 472. Good Fine, green patina that is worn thin in areas, minor roughness and cleaning marks. Scarce type.

Sometimes thought to represent the queen, but MacDonald notes: “The female bust on the reverse is more likely Aphrodite than the queen... Aphrodite Apatura appears regularly on the coins of the Kingdom of Bosporus, but queens are seldom portrayed.”
