THESSALY, Larissa. Circa 420-400 BC. AR Drachm (20mm, 5.96 g, 12h). The hero Thessalos, nude but for chlamys, his petasos flying in the air behind him, holding band around the head of a bull charging left / ΛAPI–Σ–AI (lower portion retrograde), bridled horse prancing right; all within shallow incuse square. Lorber, Thessalian pl. 43, 60 (same obv. die); BCD Thessaly II 370.3 var. (no petasos visible on obv., but die from the same hand). VF, lightly toned, small die flaw on obverse, a few faint scratches.
