THESSALY, Skotoussa. Early-mid 4th century BC. Æ Dichalkon (17mm, 4.43 g, 6h). Head of Athena right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with griffon on bowl; Λ below neck / Σ–K–O, kantharos decorated and entangled in ivy tendrils and leaves; above, club to right. Imhoof-Blumer, Monnaies Grecques p. 323, 130 corr. (ascribed to “Syme (?)”, although suggesting Syangela as another possibility); BCD Thessaly II 745 var. (Σ retrograde). VF, dark green patina, minor roughness. Extrememly rare. The third known.
