MACEDON, Kings of. Philip II. 359-336 BC. AR 1/5 Tetradrachm (2.56 gm). Amphipolis mint. Circa 323-315 BC. Head of Apollo, wearing taenia / Youth on horseback; E below. Cf. Le Rider pl. 45, 21 (TE monogram); cf. SNG ANS 663ff (same). VF. ($100) The symbol here is quite clear, and appears to be unpublished. The style of the coin matches those in ANS with the TE monogram. An error by the celator perhaps?
