Proto-coin (?). Thick Æ 9x40x50mm (137.5 gm). Circa 5th-4th Century BC. Galley (?) right in high relief / Blank, except for several parallel cuts, perhaps made to adjust the weight (?) VF, brown patina with some earthen highlights. A very impressive and interesting piece. ($200)

This piece, said to have been found in the Black Sea area, could be a precursor to the class of Olbian cast bronse coins. Cf. SNG BM Black Sea 359 and 377ff.
