Gilt bronze belt buckle. Migration Period, 5th-7th centuries AD. Gold gilt bronze buckle with quadruped (lion or mythical beast?) facing left, head right, surrounded by a border resembling fortress walls and towers. Originally pinned with four small rivets, three of which are still present.
Maximum length: 30mm. Green patina, some gilding remaining.
