Steatite amulet. Hellenistic Period, 3rd-1st centuries BC. Amulet with small piercing at top of a grotesque mask with large tufts of hair, beady eyes, and an elongated nose. Dimensions: 18x12mm. See Christies (11 December 2003), lot 466 for a similar, albeit slightly larger, specimen. Intact and in good condition.
