ATTICA, Athens. Circa 454-404 BC. Fourrée Tetradrachm (22mm, 12.44 g, 9h). Helmeted head of Athena right / Owl standing right, head facing; olive sprig and crescent behind; all within incuse square. Kroll 9. For prototype, cf. Kroll 8 and HGC 4, 1597. VF, toned, a bit rough, core barely discernible in spots, double struck on obverse.

The dies used for this fourrée do not match, even in style, the “official” emergency fourrées in the Piraeus Hoard. Thus, this coin is probably a contemporary counterfeit, similar to the coin identified by Kroll in the Agora excavations (cf. Kroll 9 and n. 72).
