SICILY, Akragas. 213-210 BC. Æ (22.5mm, 7.06 g, 9h). Laureate head of Zeus right / Eagle standing facing, head right, wings spread. BAR Issue 20; CNS 145 var. (thunderbolt); HGC 2, 157 var. (same). VF, green and brown patina, some roughness.


CNS and HGC note that the eagle is standing on a thunderbolt, but some of the examples in CNS are not clear (cf. 145/4-5 and 8-9), and it is possible that the thunderbolt is not present on many pieces.
