ANGLO-SAXON, Kings of Mercia. Offa. 757-796. AR Penny (16.5mm, 1.22 g, 6h). Light coinage, non-portrait type. London mint; Beaghard, moneyer. Struck circa 785-792/3. +O FF AR EX in angles of cross of lobes with small lobe in each angle / + BAH HARD in two lunettes divided by a beaded bar with crosses at ends. Chick 17a (this coin); SCBI –; BMA 29; North 279; SCBC 904. VF, some light porosity. Very rare.
