L. Rubrius Dossenus. 87 BC. AR Denarius (17mm, 3.77 g, 7h). Rome mint. Laureate head of Jupiter right, with scepter over shoulder; DOSSEN below / Triumphal quadriga right, with side-panel decorated with thunderbolt, [L] RVBR[I] in exergue. Crawford 348/1; Sydenham 705; Rubria 1. Near EF, typical tight flan for type, light toning with some residual luster. A surprisingly difficult type to find in grade higher than VF.
