It is now generally agreed the Antonian legionary series starts with LEG II. A handful of LEG PRI (for “primus” or “first”) denarii have entered collections and some have sold for considerable sums; however the weight of evidence indicates these are forgeries of the 18th century or later, created to “complete the set” of legionary denarii for collectors.
