POTTERY. Corinthian ware. 8th-7th Cent. BCE. (60 mm wide x 80 mm tall). An oinochoe with a flat foot that trumpets to a wide body that slightly tapers. The piece then abruptly tapers to form the shoulder and neck of the vessel. A flared lip surrounds an opening at the top of the vessel. From the rear, a single handle extends from the lip to the shoulder. The body is extensively etched with an image of a rooster and a swan on the body; on the foot, neck, lip and handle of the piece, vertical lines and in the case of the neck, a row of dots. Encrustations present. Intact and attractive in hand.

From the Ramrodivs Collection.
