Carausius. Romano-British Emperor, AD 286-293. Antoninianus (23.5mm, 3.45 g, 8h). ‘C’ mint. IMP C CARAVSIVS AVG, radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / ORI E NS AVG, Sol standing facing, head left, raising hand and holding globe; two captives seated flanking, the one to left holding olive branch; SPC. Cf. RIC V 298 and 299 (for similar issues). Attractive dark green patina, light roughness and minor cleaning scratches. Good VF. Very rare.
