OIL LAMP. Holyland. Roman. 2nd-3rd Cent. CE. A molded oil lamp with tear shaped body that tapers at nozzle to one end. Two holes present, a large central hole mid lamp and one close to the end of the nozzle. Molded design covers the majority of the lamp’s lid, including linear vertical lines surrounding the lid and a scroll work pattern before the nozzle. At the opposite end of nozzle a handle in the shape of a bull facing upwards present with sandy features. Some further encrustations at base of the handle and surrounding area. |
