Carausius. Romano-British Emperor, AD 286-293. Denarius (20.5mm, 2.75 g, 2h). ‘C’ mint(?). IMP CARAVSIVS AVG, laureate and draped bust right / CONSERV AVG, Neptune seated left, holding anchor and trident; C(?). Cf. RIC V 709 (for similar issue). Dark brown patina with some green, roughness. Fine. Extremely rare. Possibly unique if the mint mark does indeed belong to the ‘C’ mint.
