IONIA, Uncertain. Circa 600-550 BC. EL Trite – Third Stater (12.5mm, 4.73 g). Lydo-Milesian standard. Head of uncertain creature left, with large round eye, protuberance above its snout, long teeth emanating from front of its jaws, and a raised ridge running from its forehead to its lower jaw / Two incuse squares. Weidauer –; cf. Linzalone 1108 (seal; hekte); cf. CNG 102, lot 488; otherwise unpublished in the standard references. Good VF. Very rare.
