Michael VIII Palaeologus. 1261-1282. AV Hyperpyron Nomisma (29mm, 4.27 g, 6h). Constantinople mint. Half-length figure of the Theotokos, orans, within city walls with six towers; across field, M and VO, each with macron above / Michael facing, kneeling slightly right and being presented by archangel Michael to Christ seated facing to right and holding scroll; cross in upper field.
