Nero. AD 54-68. AV Aureus (18mm, 7.25 g, 6h). Rome mint. Struck circa AD 64-65. NERO CAESAR AVGVSTVS, laureate head right / IVPPITER CVSTOS, Jupiter seated left on throne, holding thunderbolt and scepter. RIC I 52; Calicó 412. A few minor marks and scratches, scrape on reverse. Near VF. Attractive red and blue toning, characteristic of aurei from Boscoreale.
