ANGLO-SAXON, Secondary Sceattas. Circa 725-735. AR Sceatt (11.5mm, 0.77 g, 12h). Series O, type 38. Mint in Kent. Bust right, with pellet on neck, within beaded semicircle border; chevron pattern around / Wingless bird standing right, pellet at beak; small sprig to right; all within torque. Sceatta List 58-30 var. (no pellet on neck, different pattern in obv. margin); SCBI 20 (Mack), 0352 (same dies); MEC 8 Series Oa; North 95; SCBC 802. Iridescent tone. VF. Rare.
