BAKTRIA, Local issues. Circa 295/3-285/3 BC. AR Tetradrachm (24mm, 17.00 g, 6h). Local standard. Uncertain mint in the Oxus region. Head of Athena right, wearing earring and crested Attic helmet decorated with three olive leaves over visor and a spiral palmette on the bowl; monogram to left / Owl standing right, head facing; AΘE downward to right; olive spray and crescent to left; grape bunch above tail. SMAK pp. 64-70; Nicolet-Pierre & Amandry 13-14 (same obv. die); Bopearachchi, Sophytes 6-7; Bopearachchi & Rahman 64-5 var. (no grape bunch); SNG ANS –; HGC 12, –; Zeno –. Lightly toned, small scratch in reverse field. EF.
