Pescennius Niger. AD 193-194. AR Denarius (18mm, 2.94 g, 6h). Antioch mint. IMP CΛES C PESC NIGER IVST ΛVG, laureate head right / VIC TO RIΛE ΛV G, Victory, winged and draped, standing left, holding wreath in extended right hand and raising hem of dress with left. Cf. RIC IV 87d; RSC 75h; BMCRE 315, note. Handsome cabinet tone. EF. Excellent portrait. Exceptional for issue.
