ISLAMIC, Umayyad Caliphate. Circa AH 40s-72 / AD 660s-691. Æ Pashiz (24.5mm, 1.06 g, 9h). Arab-Byzantine type. Imitating obverse of Heraclius. Uncertain mint in Fars or Khuzestan. Facing busts of Heraclius (older) and Heraclius Constantine (younger), both wearing chlamys and elaborate crown with cross; cross in field above; pseudo-legend around / Cross potent on three steps. Malek, Arab-Sasanian 1546–84; cf. Gyselen 85; Album 43B; ICV –. Brown surfaces, double- or over- struck. VF.
