Helmeted bust right; scepter to right / + LEOFNOÐ ON LEICS :, voided cross with annulet in center; pyramid in quarters. S. Green, “A Small Parcel of Coins from the Oulton, Staffordshire Hoard of 1795 (CCH 266) - An Australian Connection,” in BNSRB, April 2018, lot 1826 (this coin); Freeman 140; SCBI 9 (Ashmolean), 1065 (same dies?); North 831/4; SCBC 1184 var. (bust helmeted). Find patina, severely double struck on obverse. Near VF. Very rare variety with Edward wearing a helmet, rather than the usual crown.
