L SEP SEVERVS PER AVG P M IMP XI, laureate head right / P AR A D TR P VI COS II P P, Mars advancing right, holding transverse spear and trophy over shoulder. RIC IV –; BMCRE –; RSC –; R. Mowat, “Martelage et abrasion des monnaies sous l’empire Romaine: leurs contremarques,” in RN (1901), p. 469, 1 (same dies?); Harlan J. Berk BBS 198, lot 405 (same rev. die). Toned, some porosity and internal crystallization. VF. Extremely rare – possibly the third known example.
