161a Julia Domna. Augusta, AD 193-217. AR Denarius (19mm, 3.68 g, 5h). ‘New style’. Laodicea ad Mare mint. Struck under Septimius Severus and Caracalla, circa AD 198-202. IVLIA AVGVSTA, draped bust right / PVDI CITIA, Pudicitia seated left, hand across breast. RIC IV 644 (Septimius Severus); BMCRE 614 (Septimius Severus); RSC 168. Cabinet toning with traces of blue iridescence. Good VF.
