IMP CAES M ANT GORDIANVS AVG, radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / PROVIDENTIA AVG, Providentia standing left, holding grain ears and cornucopia; altar to left. Bland, Gordian III 53; RIC IV 197; RSC 307. Lightly toned. Good VF.

A note from the collector: The object below Providentia’s outstretched hand resembles a small child with uplifted arms more than an altar. Compare to the altar on lot 234.
