248a Gordian III. AD 238-244. AR Antoninianus (22mm, 4.01 g, 7h). Antioch mint. 2nd series, 2nd issue, AD 242-244. IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, radiate and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / FORTVNA REDVX, Fortuna seated left, holding rudder and cornucopia. Bland, Gordian III 78; RIC IV 210 corr. (bust type); RSC 98b corr. (same). Light golden toning around devices with traces of luster in fields. Good VF.

248b Gordian III. AD 238-244. AR Antoninianus (21mm, 4.56 g, 11h). Antioch mint. 2nd series, 2nd issue, AD 242-244. IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, radiate and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / ORIE N S AVG, Sol standing left, raising hand and holding globe. Bland, Gordian III 79; RIC IV 213; RSC 167. Good VF.

IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, radiate and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / SAECVLI FELICITAS, Gordian standing right, holding transverse spear and globe. Bland, Gordian III 82; RIC IV 216; RSC 319a; McAlee p. 316, fig. 28A (this coin illustrated). Light golden toning. Near EF. An attractive example.

248d Gordian III. AD 238-244. Fourée Antoninianus (22mm, 4.51 g, 12h). Copying Antioch mint, 2nd series, 2nd issue, AD 242-244. IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, radiate and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / VICTORIA AVGVSTI, Victory advancing right, holding wreath and palm frond over shoulder. Cf. Bland, Gordian III 83; cf. RIC IV 218; cf. RSC 375a (for official issue). Toned, some bubbling and small breaks in plating. Good VF. An attractive fourée.

248e Gordian III. AD 238-244. Æ Antoninianus (22mm, 4.41 g, 12h). Contemporary imitation combing an Antioch mint obverse with a Rome mint reverse. IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, radiate and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / VIRTVTI AVGVSTI, Hercules standing right, resting hand upon hip and holding club set upon rock. For reverse: cf. RIC IV 95; cf. RSC 404. Dark brown-green patina. VF.
