CALABRIA, Tarentum. Circa 280 BC. AR Nomos (22mm, 7.91 g, 5h). Warrior, nude, preparing to cast spear, and holding two others with shield, on horse rearing right; ΣI to left, ΔEINOKPATHΣ below / Phalanthos, holding dolphin, riding dolphin left. Vlasto 692–3; HN Italy 967. Beautiful iridescent tone. EF. Well centered and struck on a broad flan. A fantastic example.
