EÐELVVEARD REX, ‘Omega cross’ in beaded circle / + TPICG·A mON, cross pattée with pellets in angles; all within beaded circle. Naismith E53.1e = Pagan, Coinage p. 70, III.1 = D. H. Haigh, Essay on the Numismatic History of the Ancient Kingdom of the East Angles (Leeds & London, 1845), pl. III, 9 (this coin); North 454; SCBC 953. Toned, small chip and surface cracks. VF. Very rare and with an extraordinary provenance.
