This interesting essai was struck in Paris in April of 1814, after the fall of Napoléon but before the return of Louis XVIII, and commemorates the peace that at last prevailed in Europe. Austrian emperor Franz I and Prussian king Frederick Wilhelm III are both named in the series as “angels of peace.”
