SICILY, Syracuse. Agathokles. 317-289 BC. AR Tetradrachm (25mm, 17.18 g, 7h). Struck circa 317-310 BC. Head of Arethousa left, wearing wreath of grain ears, triple-pendant earring, and pearl necklace; three dolphins around, ΦI below neck / Charioteer, holding kentron in right hand, reins in left, driving fast quadriga left; counterclockwise triskeles above, ΣYPAKOΣIΩ[N] and monogram in exergue. Ierardi 67a (O12/R43 – this coin); BAR Issue 2; HGC 2, 1348; SNG ANS 640–1 (same obv. die); McClean 2817 (same obv. die). Attractively toned. Near EF.
