Augustus. 27 BC-AD 14. AV Aureus (19mm, 7.75 g, 6h). Uncertain Spanish mint (Colonia Patricia?). Struck circa 19 BC. CAESAR AVGVSTVS, bare head right / Victory, draped, flying right, holding in both hands wreath as if about to place it on a round shield inscribed S•P•Q•R/ CL•V in two lines, which leans against a tall column. RIC I 90 (same rev. die as illustration); Calicó 292; BMCRE 403 = BMCRR Rome 4385 (same dies); BN –; Biaggi –. Underlying luster, die breaks, faint hairlines. Good VF. Very rare reverse type, missing from most collections. None in CoinArchives.
