Nero. AD 54-68. Æ Sestertius (34mm, 25.32 g, 7h). Lugdunum (Lyon) mint. Struck circa AD 65. NERO CLAVD CAESAR AVG GER P M TR P IMP P P, laureate head left, globe at point of neck / PΛCE P R TER RΛ MΛRIQ PΛRTΛ IΛNVM CLVSIT, S C across field, temple of Janus, with latticed windows to left and garland hung across closed double doors to right. RIC I 439 (same rev. die as illustration); WCN 426; Lyon 117/1a (D– [unlisted obv. die]/R339); BMCRE 320 (same rev. die); BN –. Brown surfaces, even light roughness. Near EF. Well struck and attractive.
