Hadrian. AD 117-138. AR Cistophorus (26.5mm, 10.17 g, 6h). Bithynia mint. Struck circa AD 128-132. IMP CAES TRA HADRIANO AVG P P, laureate head right / COM BIT across field, ROM S P AVG in entablature, tetrastyle temple on podium of three steps; within, male figure in military dress, standing right, holding vertical spear in right hand and Victory in extended left hand; globe in pediment; ornament on fastigium. RIC II 459b; Metcalf, Cistophori B6, 24c (O17/R23 – this coin, illustrated); RPC III 973; RSC 242; BMCRE 1097. Toned, minor deposits, graffiti on reverse. Good VF.
