UNCERTAIN GERMANIC TRIBES, Pseudo-Imperial issues. Late 5th to mid 6th century AD. AV Solidus (20mm, 4.42 g, 6h). Imitating a Constantinople mint solidus struck in the name of Anastasius I. Uncertain mint. D N ΛNΛSTΛ SIVS D F AVC (sic), pearl-diademed, helmeted, and cuirassed bust facing slightly right, holding spear over shoulder and shield decorated with horseman motif / VICTORI A AVCCC, Victory standing left on ground line, holding jeweled long cross, eight-rayed star in right field; Θ//CONOB. Cf. DOC (3h); cf. MIBE 4a; cf. SB 3 (all refs for official issue). Areas of weak strike at periphery, underlying luster, graffiti, and scratches. EF.
