LUCANIA, Poseidonia. Circa 530-500 BC. AR Half Nomos – Drachm (19.5mm, 3.12 g, 12h). Poseidon standing right, preparing to cast trident, left arm extended; ΠΟΣ (retrograde, the Σ sideways) to left / Incuse of obverse type, but ΠΟΣ on right and in relief. HN Italy 1108; SNG ANS 621. Toned, roughness and porosity, cleaning scratches, some metal loss around outer edges. Fine. Extremely rare with the Σ pointed inwards.
