LUCANIA, Metapontion. Circa 470-440 BC. AR Nomos (20mm, 8.16 g, 6h). Ear of barley with six grains; META upward to left / Incuse ear of barley with five grains. Noe Class XI, 255 (same dies); Gorini 28 = Jameson 261 (same dies); HN Italy 1484; SNG ANS 256 (same dies). Toned, underlying luster, a little flat on high points, small die break on reverse. Near EF. Exceptional for issue.
