Claudius. AD 41-54. Æ Sestertius (35mm, 21.83 g, 6h). Contemporary imitation of a Rome mint issue of AD 41-42. Countermark applied during the reign of Vespasian, AD 69-79(?). Laureate head right; c/m: NCAPR (Nummus Caesare Augusto PRobatus?) in rectangular incuse / Spes advancing left, holding up flower and raising hem of skirt. Cf. RIC I 99; cf. von Kaenel Type 55; for countermark: Pangerl 60. Dark green patina. In NGC encapsulation, 2101304-007, graded Ch F. Strike: 5/5, Surface: 4/5, NCAPR ctmk.
