KINGS of MACEDON. Perseus. 179-168 BC. AR Tetradrachm (30mm, 15.25 g, 11h). Reduced standard. Pella or Amphipolis mint; Au-, mintmaster. Struck circa 171-168 BC. Diademed head right / Eagle, wings spread, standing right on thunderbolt; monogram above, AY (mintmaster’s) monogram to right, monogram between legs; all within oak wreath; below, plow left. Mamroth, Perseus 21b–22 var. (control mark between legs); HGC 3, 1094. Toned, fine cleaning scratches and small delamination on obverse. VF. Very rare variety.
