NABATAEA. Aretas IV. 9 BC-AD 40. AR Drachm (17.4mm, 4.47 g, 12h). Petra mint. Dated RY 1 (9/8 BC). Laureate and draped bust of Aretas (in guise of Augustus?) right / Veiled and draped bust of Huldu right; date at end of legend. CN 88a; DCA 972. Toned, light porosity, areas of weak strike. Good VF.

The obverse head, with its close-cropped hair, more closely resembles portraits of Augustus than that of Aretas.
