Laureate bust right, wearing aegis / Pharos surmounted by two Tritons, each blowing a trumpet; between them is a lantern surmounted by a statue, holding situla and scepter; entryway below on right; L I ∆ (date) to either side. Köln 561 var. (position of date); Dattari (Savio) 7235 var. (same); K&G 27.352 (this coin illustrated); RPC III 4557; Emmett 638.14 (R5). Green patina with touches of red. VF. Extremely rare, none in CoinArchives, and the authors of RPC III cite only eight specimens. |
