Radiate head right / AFRICA, S C across field, Africa, in elephant-skin headdress, standing right, holding grain ears in fold of robe; lion at feet to right. RIC IV 680 corr. (not standing left). Dark green patina. VF. With an old collector’s ticket.

This coin celebrates the native province of Septimius Severus, who was born in the African city of Leptis Magna.
