BRUTTIUM, The Brettii. Circa 216-214 BC. Æ Double – Didrachm(?) (26mm, 16.62 g, 12h). First coinage. Laureate head of Apollo left; Γ below neck, tripod behind / Nike driving biga right; thunderbolt [and Γ] below. Pfeiler pl. 1, 2; HN Italy 1940. dark green to black patina, roughness on the reverse. Near VF. Extremely rare variety.
