WASHINGTON BORN VIRGINIA, bust of Washington in uniform facing left; FEB. 11./1732. in two lines below, BROOKS (engraver) on truncation of bust just below the epaulet / (Radiate sun)/GENERAL/OF THE/ AMERICAN ARMIES/1775./RESIGNED,/1783./PRESIDENT/OF THE/UNITED STATES/1789./(ornamental line) in twelve lines; in exergue, J. MANLY & C. 1790. Musante GW-10; Baker-61B. Dark reddish-brown surfaces. VF. Scarce. The first medal struck in America to honor George Washington.
