Hadrian. AD 117-138. AR Denarius (18mm, 3.00 g, 6h). Rome mint. Struck circa AD 126-127. Laureate bust right, slight drapery / Seven stars (septentriones) within and above crescent moon. RIC II.3 852; RSC 466. Toned, some scratches under tone. VF.

Latin Septentriones refers to the seven stars in Ursa Major that make up the Big Dipper, or sometimes to the seven stars in Ursa Minor that comprise the Little Dipper.
